Regional Meeting of the Engineering Group of the Geological Society, Bristol 18–21 September, 1972: Introductory Statement

At the invitation of the University of Bristol and of Professor D. L. Dineley of the Department of Geology, the 1972 Regional Meeting was held at Bristol.

Over two hundred and fifty delegates came from all over Britain and there were some visitors from Europe and North America. Especial thanks are due to Dr A. B. Hawkins of the Department of Extra-Mural Studies who undertook the not inconsiderable task of local organizer.
